FT Temporary Registered Nurse – Night Shift

Location:

Sonora Behavioral Health, Tucson, Arizona.

Salary: $55 per hour. 12‑hour shifts, 13‑week temporary assignment, no benefits.

• Provide and coordinate care by assessing patients’ physical and behavioral health needs.
• Develop and implement nursing care plans.
• Maintain medical records and educate patients and families about physical and behavioral health conditions.
• Provide nursing care within the standards and scope of the state Nurse Practice Act and facility policies.
• Ensure orders from physicians are legible, verified, and transcribed appropriately.
• Continuously assess patient status and gather pertinent information for documentation.
• Notify physicians of significant changes, including detox difficulties, medical emergencies, medication responses, and related challenges.
• Complete initial nursing treatment plans and ensure they are specific to assessed needs.
• Demonstrate universal precautions in direct patient care.
• Administer medications accurately per the ordered notes.
• Document count of controlled substances as required.
• Process admission and discharge efficiently and accurately.
• Maintain therapeutic rapport with patients, respecting personal space and professional boundaries.
• Coordinate or direct unit activities as directed.
• Communicate therapeutically and professionally with patients, visitors, co‑workers, and others involved in inpatient treatment.

• Graduated from an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Arizona or eligibility to practice in the state.
• Minimum one year of nursing experience; experience in psychiatric, mental, behavioral, or substance abuse nursing is plus.
• CPR certification and de‑escalation and restraint certification; training available upon hire.
• First aid certification may be required based on state or facility requirements.
