Acute Care Nurse Practitioner-Pediatric Surgery and Urology

TMCOne along with Arizona Pediatric Surgery & Urology are currently recruiting for an acute care nurse practitioner to provide excellent care to the children of Tucson and Southern Arizona. This is a clinic and hospital based role where the hours will vary and there are no call requirements for this position.

• Obtain patient history and perform a physical exam, and retroperitoneal ultrasound when indicated (training will be provided).
• Evaluate new patients with operative and non‑operative pediatric urology concerns such as hydronephrosis, UTI, kidney stones, incontinence, train patients how to catheterize themselves, train patients on stoma care, etc.
• Manage follow‑up patients who have non‑operative pediatric urology conditions such as incontinence, UTI, etc.
• Train and manage patients undergoing percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation procedures.
• Train in neonatal circumcision and manage those procedures.
• Assist in pre‑ and post‑op care for pediatric urology patients.

• Education: Master’s degree in Nursing or related area, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
• Experience: Two (2) years of related experience, with experience as an RN in this field considered a plus.
• Licensure or Certification: National certification as a Nurse Practitioner (or eligibility for credentialing at TMC through the Professional Staffing Office prior to appointment). Current Arizona state license as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority. Current Federal Drug Administration license for prescribing controlled substances. Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); for mental health only Crisis Prevention Instruction (CPI) required.
