Intertek Minerals provides geochemical assay and testing services, minerals inspection and trade services to support the minerals and mining supply chain globally from grassroots exploration to final product shipment. Working under the supervision of the Lab Manager, the Laboratory Technician will receive and prepare samples to conduct laboratory testing as requested by the client. The focus will be on assay testing, with responsibilities for materials testing processes, handling and preparing samples, and providing written analysis in a laboratory environment.
The ideal candidate has a desire to learn, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently and/or in a team setting.

What you’ll do- Receive and prepare samples to conduct acid digestions and chemical analysis, reporting data to supervisors.
- Maintain reagents inventories by ordering supplies.
- Prepare calibration standards for instruments.
- Conduct maintenance on lab equipment such as carbon and sulfur analyzers, ICP OES, titrators and atomic absorption analyzers.
- Perform acid, cyanide, lime, and alkalinity titrations, and prepare solutions needed for these tasks.
- Prepare paperwork for weighing and acid digestions.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry OR 5 years’ experience working in an analytical laboratory.
- Experience using Atomic Absorption, ICP‑OES, Carbon/Sulfur Analyzer.
- Experience with acid, alkalinity, ferrous iron, and NaCN titrations.
- Experience with acid digestions.
- Experience reporting data to customers.
- Ability to work with a team of engineers and other team members.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
- Good customer service skills.
