Position Highlights
The Wilson Laboratory is seeking a Research Technician to work on a mouse model to study the role of gut microbiota in autoimmune lung and arthritic disease and work with the principal investigator as well as working closely with other collaborators. The candidate will gain valuable experience in many cutting edge experimental techniques including handling of intestinal inflammation model, immuno and histological staining, ELISA, flow analysis, light and fluorescent microscopy, RT-PCR and data analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities- Set up lab equipment following detailed procedures.
- Perform routine laboratory procedures such as handling of autoimmune arthritis model, immuno and histological staining, ELISA, flow analysis, light and fluorescent microscopy, RT-PCR.
- Record information and maintain logs of experimental data for data analysis.
- Assist with grant and manuscript submissions.
- Mouse colony management including PCR genotyping and weaning of the mouse litters.
- Assist in training students working in the laboratory.
- Manage lab safety protocol, waste material and arrange for disposal according to established procedures.
- Clean/sterilize instruments, glassware, and equipment.
- General lab upkeep including ordering and maintaining lab supplies.
