We’re seeking an experienced Cultural Resources and Archaeology professional to lead archaeological investigations and manage cultural resource compliance projects in Tucson, AZ, with a focus on the Southwestern U.S.
Key Responsibilities- Lead field investigations (surveys, testing, monitoring, data recovery)
- Manage cultural resource projects from planning through completion
- Prepare technical reports, research designs, and resource management documentation
- Ensure compliance with NEPA/NHPA and Section 106/110
- Coordinate with federal/state agencies and project stakeholders
- Supervise and mentor field personnel
- Support proposals, budgets, and scheduling
- Conduct archival research and GIS-related documentation
- Master’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or related discipline
- 10+ years of relevant archaeological/cultural resources experience
- Experience supervising field crews and managing projects
- Strong knowledge of Section 106/110 and Southwest permitting requirements
- Valid U.S. driver’s license; willingness to travel, including occasional overnight stays
- U.S. citizenship required due to project requirements
- Experience in AZ, NM, TX, or CA
- Professional archaeological registration or equivalent credentials
- Experience with tribal consultation and stakeholder coordination
- Proficiency with ArcGIS, GPS equipment, and digital field-data collection
- Specialized knowledge (lithics, ceramics, faunal analysis, or historical archaeology)
