Hood Distribution, established in 1899, is a wholesale distributor of hardwood lumber and plywood, as well as related specialty wood products. We operate twenty-three locations, distributing throughout the eastern U.S. and Caribbean markets.

• Assist customers and sell a specific line of merchandise in the retail operation.
• Receive merchandise, total bills, accept payments, and make changes for customers.
• Stock shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
• Set up advertising displays or arrangements of merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
• Mark merchandise.
• Obtain merchandise requested by customer or receive merchandise selected by customer.
• Answer customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
• Wrap or bag merchandise for customers.
• Clean shelves, counters, or tables.
• Remove and record amount of cash in register at end of shift.
• Enter sales discount to determine price.
• Keep records of sales, prepare inventory of stock, or order merchandise.
• May be designated according to product sold or type of store.
