Respiratory Sales Representative at Vie Med Healthcare

Position SummaryThis field‑based, business development sales role requires a candidate who can act as a patient advocate and a positive representative of Vie Med. The position involves identifying and initiating one‑on‑one dialog with new potential referral sources, maintaining positive relationships with existing referral sources, and designing sales strategies to grow the business within the assigned territory.
The role demands spending most of the time (80%+) in the field: networking, building relationships, and educating hospital referral sources—Pulmonologists, Hospitalists, Critical Care Physicians, Case Managers, and Social Workers—about the benefits of Vie Med’s disease management program.
Essential Sales Duties and Responsibilities- Market Vie Med’s disease management program to potential and existing referral sources
- Develop sales territory action plans and call strategies to maintain ongoing business with current accounts and identify new market potential
- Coordinate and provide educational presentations and in‑services for healthcare providers
- Maintain account activity, sales documentation, reports, and territory management
- Collaborate with internal teams to promote our home respiratory therapy services
- Work with office staff to ensure accurate billing and documentation, meeting third‑party payer guidelines
- Be available for patient contact and response to patient needs
- Meet or exceed sales quotas
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned
- Build and maintain relationships with referral sources within the territory
- Effective oral and written communication with physicians and staff
- Independent planning and execution of sales strategies to achieve goals
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to results
- Build relationships with patients and caregivers
- Strong organizational and territory management skills
- Self‑driven, accountable, autonomous yet supportive of team efforts
- Resourceful problem solver in a fast‑paced environment
- Well‑connected with Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Hospitalist physicians in the territory (required)
- Three informal letters of recommendation from Pulmonologists (required)
- Current, valid, active state driver’s license with clean driving record; reliable transportation required
- Proven track record of successful sales in a healthcare setting, working with physicians, nursing management, discharge planners, case managers, and social workers
- Minimum two years of full life‑cycle healthcare sales experience (lead generation, education, follow‑up, and closure)
- Minimum two years experience as a Clinical Liaison, preferably within LTACH care
- Prior marketing or LTACH marketing experience
- Prior clinical/clinical liaison experience preferred, with skill in clinical patient assessment
- Formal sales training preferred
- Preferred applicant:
Respiratory Therapist or Nurse with Adult Critical Care experience and business development or strong sales record in the Home Medical Equipment market - Clinical licensure preferred: RT, RRT, CRT, RCP, RN, LPN
- Field‑based sales activities with existing and potential referral sources, including Pulmonologists, Hospitalists, Critical Care Physicians, Hospitals, Case Managers, Social Workers, etc.
