Blackstone Talent Group—an award‑winning technology consulting and talent agency—is hiring a Principal Software Engineer to join a client’s team.
OverviewThe role focuses on the design, development, integration, and maintenance of software in support of on‑site factory systems that aid weapon‑system product development. Selected candidates will develop applications, libraries, and instrument drivers using the organization’s specified software style, development language, and integrated development environment.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and integrate object‑oriented software applications using C# and C++ in Microsoft Visual Studio on Windows.
- Prioritize and handle multiple engineering tasks concurrently.
- Troubleshoot software and test equipment instrumentation.
- Work within a multidiscipline engineering team environment.
- Develop and derive software requirements.
- Lead and mentor junior software engineers.
- Typically a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree with at least 5 years of experience.
- Experience developing and integrating software applications in C++, C#, Java, Python, or Visual Basic.
- Proficient with integrated development environments and debugging tools to troubleshoot and ensure software integrity.
- Prior experience with Windows operating system and Microsoft Visual Studio.
- Prior experience with laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software (e.g., oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters).
- Active U.S. government security clearance (Secret) required prior to start date.
- Experience with computer architecture, hardware optimization, and software driver development.
- Knowledge of common computer‑hardware interfaces and data protocols such as TCP/IP, UDP, or RS‑422.
- Experience using UML to model software architecture and design.
- Familiarity with software development life cycles (Waterfall, Agile).
- Understanding of Software Configuration Management principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure Dev Ops Server or Git Hub.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience leading technical teams or projects.
Secret level clearance is required.
