Software Quality Engineer – Raytheon
Join Raytheon’s Air, Space and Defense Systems (ASDS) and Naval Power (NP) Strategic Business Units as a Software Quality Engineer at Tucson, AZ. In this onsite role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to validate and verify digital products, including embedded code, firmware, simulations, and other contractual artifacts.

Position TypeOnsite – full‑time
Security ClearanceDoD Secret clearance required. U.S. citizenship is mandatory; the role requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance prior to the start date.
What You Will Do- Program Execution Support – participate in all phases of systems/digital products design and development, ensuring compliance with product/process requirements and reviewing/approving software, systems, integration, and test deliverables.
- Product Continuous Improvement – perform risk assessments across the development lifecycle, driving data‑focused improvements and process enhancements.
- Product Integrity – monitor and participate in test and release activities, measuring key software attributes and maintaining the Technical Data Package.
- Teamwork – provide guidance to project staff and senior staff, lead quality assessments, and facilitate communication with senior development and test personnel.
- Process Improvement – improve and deploy Quality Engineering processes, conduct root‑cause analysis, and plan corrective actions in partnership with stakeholders.
- Knowledge and Tools – apply Agile or Dev Ops practices, emphasizing software testing, continuous integration, continuous monitoring, code analysis, and information assurance.
- BS or higher in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), with two (2) years of experience in advanced software development principles and practices.
- Experience with software/firmware development processes and quality assessment of software products and artifacts.
- Prior experience with Agile or Dev Ops practices, emphasizing testing, CI, and CMMI approaches.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
- Project and workload management experience, meeting internal customer demands and schedules.
- Strong technical and soft skills for team interfacing and cohesion.
- Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience as an organizational spokesperson and advisor on Software Quality concepts.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000/AS9100, IPDS, CORE/Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of Guidance, Navigation, Signal Processing, Radar, and Discrimination systems and associated algorithms.
- Competitive salary range of $66,000 – $130,000 USD, with additional incentive compensation depending on level and business unit.
