Salary: $16.00/hr while in training; starting pay up to $21.90/hr after training.

• Pre- and Post-trip inspection
• Maintain a daily log of bus inspection
• Inspect bus fluids and mechanical functions, report maintenance requests to mechanic
• Fuel bus/vehicle as needed
• Maintain a clean vehicle inside and out
• Drive bus or van to transport passengers on special needs and/or regular routes
• May be required to drive special field trips or athletic events
• Transport students in a safe manner
• Instruct students on bus safety, providing guidance and discipline as appropriate
• Refer parent complaints or discipline problems to Transportation Coordinator
• Work split shifts
• Perform other transportation or district related duties as assigned

• Read and interpret safety rules, operating, maintenance and procedure manuals
• Work independently
• Maintain confidentiality
• Ability to sit for a long period, climb stairs, kneel and crouch
• Communicate effectively with students, parents and employees

• High School Diploma or GED
• Attain or currently hold a CDL license with School Bus Driver Endorsement
• Pass mandatory DOT Physical and drug screen (pre‑employment)
• Obtain appropriate Fingerprint Clearance
• Complete mandatory CPR and First Aid training
• Safe driving record

Training is available. New drivers with a CDL eligible for a $1,000 signing bonus after completing 30 days of driving.
