Hiring team is seeking a Mechanical Systems Design and Analysis Engineer Mid (Level
3) to join the Flight Test Design/Build team in USA – Tukwila, WA.
Flight Test Design engineers support the design, build, and installation of Flight Test instrumentation, equipment, and hardware onto a variety of BCA and BDS program test platforms.
The team is responsible for designing the application of instrumentation, installation of test equipment, and integration of data system infrastructure onto a variety of aircraft systems and components to measure and collect flight test data. This is an excellent opportunity to work in the fast-paced area of Flight Test and a chance to work on multiple programs across the enterprise.
Position Responsibilities:
- This position will be responsible to support mechanical design and analysis of wide range of mechanical components and products of various aircraft test programs.
- Develops, maintains and modifies test parts and installation designs, using 3-D Computer Aided Design tools and/or other design methods, to provide product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers and external customers throughout the product lifecycle.
- Supports supplier development, test and production activities and coordinates with the supplier to optimize the design and achieve program goals.
- This position will be responsible for communicating regularly with team members in company organizations and shall provide periodic update on project progress, quality metrics, project summaries, and other related documents.
- Must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams within company and external partners.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, computer science, mathematics or physics.
- 5+ years of experience with engineering and design software (i.e. CAD/3D packages [UG/NX, CATIA, Solid Works, CREO, etc.]).
- Experience in mechanical engineering
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Proficiency in CAD Tools (AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, and Unigraphics/NX) for Modeling, Drafting & Model Based Definition is essential and PLM software (Enovia, Team center).
- Proficiency in Generative shape design, Part design, Assembly design, Sheet metal design, Tubing, Drafting,
- Knowledge of aircraft structural, system or environmental testing is preferred.
- Knowledge of NASTRAN, PATRAN, Hyper mesh, and Manufacturing systems will be an advantage.
- Proficiency in structural design, mechanical design, stress analysis, material properties, awareness of Industry standards for structural and mechanical design.
- Able to work independently with minimum supervision, positive attitude and highest ethics.
- Pro-actively seek information and direction to successfully complete the statement of work.
- Proficiency in Geometric dimension and tolerance (ASME Y14.5-2009).
- Demonstrate strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Bachelor's degree and typically 5 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 3 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with experience in an engineering classification.
