Boeing’s Non‑Destructive Evaluation (NDE) and Measurement Systems team is seeking Associate or Mid‑Level Measurement Engineers to join our team in Tukwila, Washington.

The Puget Sound NDE and Measurement Systems is an engineering team responsible for supporting design, development, production programs, and In‑Service. The team provides certification and qualification services across the value stream for NDE and Measurement. The team works on commercial and defense aircraft including 737, 747, 757, 767, 777, 787, KC‑46, B1B, and P-8, as well as development programs such as SLS, CST‑100, 777X, and MQ‑25.

This team supports diverse non‑destructive evaluation and measurement technology applications for commercial and defense products produced or supported by Boeing. There is an opportunity to experience different business unit needs and support a diverse selection of commercial and defense aircraft in different phases of their production lifecycle. The role impacts programs across the enterprise and offers growth across all Boeing.

Position Responsibilities
  • Assist with definition of requirements for tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes used in the engineering design, manufacture, and/or maintenance of Boeing products.
  • Draft engineering specifications and other documents to manage the deployment of tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes.
  • Assist in evaluation of emerging technologies for potential application to business needs.
  • Assist with development and qualification of new tools, equipment, materials, parts, and processes to meet requirements.
  • Perform routine tests and audits to qualify suppliers to applicable requirements.
  • Conduct routine analysis to determine performance or reasons for failures of tools, materials, parts, or processes.
  • Use project management tools to meet cost, technical, and schedule requirements.
  • Work on research projects with a heavy focus on measurement technologies directed at improving inspection speed and accuracy in manufacturing processes.
  • Develop, test, and deploy measurement solutions for various inspection applications.
  • Analyze inspection data and develop automated analysis routines.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
  • Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry.
  • 1+ years of engineering experience.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
  • Experience with linear algebra, geometry, numerical methods, 3D geometry, statistics, and computational methods.
  • Experience in programming/software development (e.g., MATLAB, Python, C++).
  • Experience with measurement systems (e.g., photogrammetry, coordinate measuring machines, laser tracker, laser radar, laser alignment, portable measurement tools, structured light).
  • Experience with metrology, measurement, or measurement analysis.
  • Experience in aviation and/or aerospace.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent time‑management skills to manage several simultaneous projects effectively and across various geographical areas.
