Electrophysics RF Microwave Engineer (Senior or Expert)
Senior Microwave RF Engineer for airborne passive electronic detection system product line in the US E-7A Mission Systems organization. This role leads electronics engineering of RF circuits and components (100 MHz through 40 GHz typical) and integration of optical modulation/demodulation systems. Responsibilities span all aspects of RF electrical engineering from circuit analysis and design to aircraft‑level system integration.
Job Responsibilities- Perform circuit design, simulation, development, analysis, and troubleshooting.
- Analyze, model, and design component‑level, functional‑level, and system‑level RF hardware.
- Create test plans and procedures, perform engineering verification, analyze test results, and produce test reports.
- Oversee production at supplier and Boeing manufacturing facilities. Support product line system integration in lab and on aircraft.
- Support multiple aircraft platforms and work with domestic and foreign customers.
- Drive development through the entire product life cycle from subsystem architectures, specifications, designs, testing, analysis, simulation, product testing, aircraft and laboratory integration.
- Oversee supplier detail design, fabrication, and test; conduct environmental and performance qualification test planning, execution, and creating test reports; investigate and resolve anomalies.
- Support project management by developing work statements, budgets, and schedules, and reporting team progress.
- Support development of proposals in support of new business opportunities.
Candidate must be willing to travel for short and extended periods to support supplier interaction and program requirements, including foreign travel.
Security Clearance
:
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance. A U.S. citizen with an interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre‑Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post‑Start is required.
Union Representation

- Degree and typical experience in engineering:
Bachelor’s degree and 9+ years’ experience, Master’s degree with 7+ years’ experience, or Ph.D. with equivalent experience. - Engineer, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry from an accredited institution.
- Extended experience:
Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years’ experience, Master’s degree with 12+ years, or Ph.D. with 9+ years. - Experience with wide‑band antennas, radome design, RF‑to‑optical modulation/demodulation technologies, phase interferometers, RF component design.
- Highly motivated, team player, effective communicator, positive and solution‑oriented attitude, and an active U.S. Security clearance (Secret or above).
Relocation
:
This position offers relocation to qualified candidates.
Shift
: 1st shift.
Pay Range
:
- Senior: $146,200 – $197,800
- Expert: $176,800 – $239,200

:
This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. A “U.S. Person” (citizen, national, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee) is required.
