Veterinary Ultrasonographer

Blue Pearl Pet Hospital is hiring an exceptional Veterinary Ultrasonographer.

Payscale: $36.78 - $53.15 /Hr

The Veterinary Ultrasonographer operates sonographic equipment to produce images for interpretation and maintains the integrity and quality of the Radiology Department. Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Ultrasonographer performs exams at a technical level that does not require direct supervision. Conducts a wide variety of Ultrasound. Assists with interventional procedures. Uses independent judgment, ingenuity and acquired knowledge to obtain quality diagnostic images.

• Perform ultrasound (image capture).
• Perform cystocentesis and collect fine needle aspirates for cytology.
• Safely restrain patients for procedures.
• Place intravenous catheters in all peripheral veins.
• Perform phlebotomy.
• Proficiently perform digital radiographs.
• Administer and monitor patients during anesthesia or while sedated.
• Perform advanced imaging such as CT scans and MRI procedures.
• Mentor and train other co-workers.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.

• A.S. Degree required; B.S. preferred.
• Veterinary Ultrasound certificate program or certificate in diagnostic medical sonography preferred (RVMS) or Certificate program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Graduate of Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or an accredited radiology program or equivalent. Certification by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent.
