Bluecoat Operator

Position Summary

Under moderate supervision, sets up and operates blue coating operation, including grit blast, as well as the lubricing of sleeve raw material to specification by performing the following duties:

• Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
• Performs basic operation of equipment to produce to rate and meet quality standards.
• Sets up and operates grit blast (bluecoat), blue coating, and lubing of raw material to create coated bushings and other products.
• Monitors machine operations to determine whether adjustments are necessary; stop machines when problems occur.
• Performs housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and orderly workstation and performs basic machine upkeep.
• May perform forming, deburring, heading, sleeve washing, or packaging as needed.

• The ability to read and write English.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to use math skills to solve problems.
• Preferred at least 3 months of related experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Must have knowledge of shop practices and procedures, ability to read blueprints, and ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.

• M-Fri 11:30PM - 7:00AM

All shifts starting after 12:00pm will receive an additional $1.00/hour.
