Job Description

This position supports material management for shop and tool rooms, ensuring customers are supplied with tools, equipment, and supplies.

Responsibilities
  • Work with Material Management Specialists to ensure materials & supplies are available to shop personnel.
  • Set up and maintain inventory recording/control systems and coordinate movement of tools and supplies.
  • Analyze work area, determine priorities, and sequence work based on customer requirements.
  • Develop, update and implement processes and procedures for material management.
  • Order and receive tools, equipment, and supplies to support the shop.
  • Determine shop needs and log receives using various computer programs.
  • Store tools and supplies appropriately and in designated areas per toolroom procedures.
  • Verify receipts and enter data into the system, investigating discrepancies and following correction procedures.
  • Label new tools using appropriate tools (e.g., tags, pencils, electro‑chemical etch).
  • Issue/route tools, supplies, and safety equipment to shop personnel or tool rooms.
  • Send used equipment out for refurbishment and maintain thorough inventory recording.
  • Visually inspect tools for defects and route broken tools to repair areas.
  • Audit inventory periodically for accuracy.
  • Maintain filing systems and service satellite supply areas (e.g., shadow boxes, drill cabinets).
  • Assign shadow box numbers and log them in the system.
  • Kit proper tools for work orders and machines per the Numerical Control (NC) machine document.
  • Order special cutters required by NC documents.
  • Operate mechanical lifts and other shop equipment to move material.
  • Locate tools using delinquent reports, hold‑out notices, and investigative skills.
  • Route tools to calibration/certification areas for testing.
  • Check and post certification reports and maintain records.
  • Prepare and maintain status information, logs, manifests, and tie‑ins.
  • Use computer systems for various job functions (e.g., add shippers, pull orders, debit inventory).
  • Coordinate with other organizations to supply customer needs and expedite priority orders.
  • Follow up on requests from shop personnel and troubleshoot customer problems.
  • Input employee information into the tool room inventory system and order/supply shop stamps.
  • Check and clear toolboxes per Boeing security procedures.
  • Clean and seal oxygen kits using chemicals and personal protective equipment.
  • Write tool grind orders and maintain cutter inventory.
  • Apply protective coating and bag/box cutters for routing.
  • Contact co‑workers or supervisors for assistance or questions.
Basic Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • 1+ years experience with Material Requirements Planning (MRP).
  • 1+ years warehouse experience.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Capability to lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs.
Preferred Experience
  • Forklift experience or certification (Stackers).
  • Active security clearance.
Shift

1st Shift (5:00 AM – 1:30 PM).

  • Position is 100% on‑site at one of the listed locations.

  • Hourly position governed by the IAM‑751 Collective Bargaining agreement.
  • Hourly pay range: $25.00 – $49.92.
