Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for Director of Community Engagement & Communications for a dynamic nonprofit organization focused on youth programs, educational initiatives, and community impact. This role is onsite in Tukwila, WA.

Position Overview

This new strategic position will lead the organization’s community engagement and communications efforts, amplifying its mission and programs to diverse audiences. The role is a blend of storytelling, relationship-building, and fundraising strategy, helping to increase awareness of the organization’s impact. You will work closely with leadership and guide a small team to implement programs and outreach initiatives that support the community and youth development.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement communications strategies to elevate the organization’s mission and programs
  • Build and maintain relationships with community partners, sponsors, media outlets, and other stakeholders
  • Oversee charitable outreach initiatives, including grants, sponsor ships, and partnerships
  • Guide and support team members in collecting data and reporting impact metrics
  • Represent the organization at community events and in public-facing communications
  • Ensure alignment of all external messaging and partnerships with organizational values
Qualifications
  • Strong experience in community engagement, communications, or fundraising roles
  • Exceptional storytelling and writing skills with the ability to tailor messages for diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships and partnerships

    Comfortable working collaboratively across departments and with leadership
  • Mission-driven, with a passion for youth programs, equity, and access to opportunities
