The EHS Manager will manage the Environmental, Health & Safety Programs at the plant, partnering with site leadership and corporate EHS to maintain a safe and healthy work environment following OSHA and other regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with Corporate Director of EHS to establish and execute strategies that promote employee awareness, reduce accidents, and monitor safety performance.
- Implement company EHS programs and engage workers in safety, environmental and security policies.
- Provide counsel and floor support to site teams for safety, health and environmental questions and hazards.
- Lead the development of risk assessment methods and systems.
- Prioritize reduction of TF1 and TF2 incidents through education, training and safety measures.
- Lead and manage incident management and near‑miss program, investigating incidents, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
- Facilitate the safety committee, oversee safety inspections, meetings and task follow‑up.
- Administer the workers’ compensation program and conduct ergonomic assessments.
- Manage chemical and hazardous material programs, ensuring Safety Data Sheets availability.
- Lead environmental programs, including recycling, power conservation, and waste management.
- Serve as primary contact for all local, state and federal EH&S inquiries and investigations.
- Maintain, monitor and report on all EHS performance metrics.
- Create and implement required permits & compliance programs (OSHA, EPA, chemical storage, noise, air quality, wastewater, SPCC).
- Own plant safety audit program, driving improvement.
- Develop, implement and maintain all EHS written programs and procedures (LOTO, confined space, etc.).
- Report performance against targets and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate on annual training plans, ensuring records are maintained.
- Manage, train and develop EHS team members, providing performance feedback.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety or Environmental Science preferred; advanced degree a plus.
- 5+ years of safety and environmental management experience, food manufacturing preferred.
- 5+ years of leading direct-reporting team members.
- Track record of implementing effective EH&S programs.
- Knowledge of federal, state, local food processing regulations.
- Strong understanding of workers’ compensation claim management.
- Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, ISO 14001, and other standards.
- Proficiency in LEAN and/or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels.
- Effective training techniques for diverse audiences.
- Self‑starter with initiative, collaborative, and passionate about work.
- Strong prioritization and deadline management in complex environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

Salary and BenefitsSalary: $110,000 - $130,000 + 15% Annual Bonus
