Store Protection Specialist

Overview

Store Protection Specialist at Ross Stores, Inc. This position provides a visible presence at store entrances/exits, mitigates theft and fraud, and maintains a safe and secure environment for Associates and Customers. The Specialist engages with Customers in a courteous manner and supports Loss Prevention directives to minimize operational shortage.

• Maintain a safe and secure environment by practicing safe behaviors and addressing safety issues
• Provide visible command presence at store entrances/exits and on the sales floor
• Greet Customers and monitor for potential theft indicators while wearing required attire
• Assist Store Leadership in complying with Loss Prevention directives and minimizing shortages
• Walk the sales floor to identify and address potential theft indicators as directed
• Collaborate with internal and external partners, participate in district meetings, and contribute to recognition efforts
• Adhere to Company policies for external theft response and best practices to maximize productivity

• High School education or equivalent required; AA degree preferred
• One year retail supervisor experience or similar training preferred
• One year loss prevention/security training preferred
• Active Security Guard License preferred
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Proven ability to resolve conflicts and provide excellent customer service
• Ability to comply with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations for security positions, including background screening and other checks as required

• Consistent timeliness and regular attendance
• Ability to stand, walk, and move around the store up to 100% of working time
• Ability to lift, move, or carry objects more than 25 lbs
• Ability to bend, stoop, or crouch as daily business requires
