Job SummaryThe Sterile Processing Technician works under the supervision of the manager or designee in maintaining, disinfecting, sterilization and processing of surgical instruments and supplies.
Vanderbilt Health is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician PRN at Vanderbilt Tullahoma - Harton Hospital! Position Highlights- Sterile processing experience required.
- Must have one of the following certifications in order to be considered:
- Certified Registered Central Service Technician – Healthcare Sterile Processing Association
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician – The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution, Inc.
- Maintain a clean, orderly work area while handling various types of equipment, instruments, and supplies used during surgical procedures.
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instrumentation, equipment and supplies for the OR and other areas as needed.
- Keep accurate quality control records regarding Bowie‑Dick Tests, Biologics and individual load records.
- Ensure adequate inventory of necessary supplies for the Sterile Processing department and order as needed.
- Transport sterile supplies and equipment to other areas of the hospital.
- Maintain and care for equipment and supplies. Document maintenance and repairs.
- Maintain department records, reports and files as required.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs.
- Consistently provide accurate and complete hand‑off communication to any healthcare provider according to hospital policy.
- Attend 80% of all department meetings and review and initial all department minutes missed.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
