Recreation Director

We are seeking a creative, organized, and compassionate Recreation Director to lead and manage the therapeutic recreation program within our Skilled Nursing Facility. This role is responsible for developing engaging activities that enhance residents' physical, emotional, and social well-being while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Plan, develop, and oversee a comprehensive recreation and activities program
• Ensure activities meet residents' interests, abilities, and care plan goals
• Supervise, train, and schedule recreation staff and volunteers
• Coordinate group and individual activities, outings, and special events
• Maintain compliance with CMS, state regulations, and facility policies
• Complete required documentation, assessments, and care plan entries
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident-centered care
• Monitor supplies, budgets, and equipment for the recreation department

• Prior experience in recreation/activities in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting preferred
• Certification as an Activities Director (ADC) or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) preferred (state-specific, if applicable)
• Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills
