Overview

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has an exciting opportunity for a Windows Desktop Support Tech supporting TOS II at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. As a member of an integrated team, you will support and maintain desktops and peripherals for the United States Air Force Test Operations and Sustainment efforts.

Open to internal and external candidates. The selected candidate may be required to work outside normal business hours (e.g., application upgrades).

Job Summary

BNH is the team selected by the U.S. Air Force to conduct Test and Operations Sustainment at the Arnold Engineering Development Complex (AEDC) at Arnold Air Force Base in Tennessee. AEDC operates more than 55 aerodynamic and propulsion wind tunnels, rocket and turbine engine test cells, space environmental chambers, arc heaters, ballistic ranges, and other specialized units located in six states.

AEDC is part of the Air Force Test Center and a national resource.

As a Windows Desktop Support Tech, you will perform desktop hardware and software support, be part of a large team, and ensure reliable operations for test customers.

Job Duties
  • Provide desktop hardware and software support for end‑users.
  • Image and deploy Windows 11 client computers across the Base.
  • Maintain working knowledge of hardware, software, and networks and review new technologies.
  • Install and configure desktops, laptops, printers, and related peripherals.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to end‑users and resolve issues.
  • Analyze and resolve hardware, software, or network issues.
  • Configure and maintain Office 365 environment for smooth operation.
  • Monitor and resolve helpdesk tickets.
  • Implement and manage vulnerability patches to ensure system security.
  • Perform system security configuration, hardening, patching, and monitoring, including implementing STIGs and DoD security policies.
  • Ensure cybersecurity requirements are consistently documented, maintained, evaluated, and compliant for Air Force IT system networks.
  • Work with the Information System Security Manager to ensure compliance with information assurance regulations and best practices.
  • Provide training to users for hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Support the use of common work processes and procedures within the assigned function across the TOS contract.
  • Be available outside of working hours to remediate critical IT infrastructure issues as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess or commit to obtaining requisite DoD 8140 administrative role certifications within six months of hiring.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance and access to the AEDC local area network.
  • Current U.S. Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CompTIA Security+ Certification.
  • CompTIA A+ Certification.
  • Experience in desktop hardware and software setup and configuration.
  • Experience with MS Office 365, MS Visio, Windows 11, and gold image creation.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Effective communication at all organizational levels.
  • Strong customer service skills and a can‑do attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with client and server patch management.
  • Skilled at building and maintaining peer and customer relationships.
