Senior Tax Accountant

Position: Senior Tax Accountant

A well-established companyis seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to manage the preparation, review, and filing of complex tax returns, including partnerships, trusts, and individual (1040) filings. This role also includes general accounting responsibilities such as journal entries, reconciliations, and assisting with month-end close. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable working in a small, collaborative environment that values accuracy, confidentiality, and proactive financial management.

• Prepare and review federal and state income tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships, and trusts.
• Maintain accurate tax records, documentation, and supporting work papers.
• Research tax issues and ensure compliance with current tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with quarterly tax estimates and year-end tax planning.
• Record journal entries, reconcile accounts, and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Collaborate with external advisors (CPAs, attorneys, and financial planners) on complex tax and accounting matters.
• Maintain general ledger activity and assist with financial reporting as needed.
• Support special projects, such as entity restructuring, investment tracking, or estate planning analysis.

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA, EA or working toward CPA or EA preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant tax and accounting experience (public accounting or family office experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of partnership, trust, and individual taxation.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and discretion with confidential information.

The pay range for the Senior Tax Accountant is based on experience.
