About this PositionResponsible for the stewardship of the institution’s archival collections, both physical and digital. Applies industry best practices to maintain, preserve, develop, and promote these collections, ensuring accessibility, discoverability, and long‑term preservation.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage OSU-CHS’s physical and digital archival collections in accordance with professional standards. Provide reference and guidance regarding efficient and cost‑effective records management and disposition processes in compliance with the Oklahoma Archives and Records Commission. Staff the library circulation desk, proctor library testing center exams, and provide supervision to student employees. Support the mission and strategic goals of the Medical Library by performing additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- Master's
Library and Information Science from an American Library Association-accredited program (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Knowledge of archival science and digital image processing/preservation.
- Willingness to work with human anatomical models.
- Ability to exercise independent judgement, to assume responsibility, and to work independently with little direction.
- Ability to work collaboratively with librarians and staff from other departments in the institution.
- Ability to plan and organize work. Ability to handle complex records and processes.
- Proficient/expert skills using computers and databases, and documenting workflows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to foster an inclusive work environment and build authentic relationships with coworkers and patrons (students, staff, and faculty).
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Experience as an archives librarian and an academic librarian preferred.
- Software skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, CoPilot, Zoom, Archives Information Management Systems (AIMS), and other digital management systems preferred.
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. AHIP membership preferred.
