We’re building state‑of‑the‑art data centers in Baton Rouge, LA, and need a seasoned Mechanical Construction Manager to lead on scheduling, material coordination, and safety while driving project excellence.
Responsibilities- Conduct project meetings with contractors and stakeholders.
- Maintain official project documentation files and logs.
- Perform onsite activities such as inspections, walkdowns, and construction or field administration tasks.
- Review submittals, shop drawings, material certifications, and other deliverables to support project turnover.
- Ensure all construction complies with design specifications and drawings.
- Support the project management team in change management and monthly invoicing.
- Track work in place and construction progression.
- Coordinate daily tasks to support project schedule and accurate reporting.
- Build a cooperative partnership between client, contractor, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure project success.
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Construction, or Engineering.
- At least 8 years of construction site experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pre‑design and pre‑construction activities, building systems/components, and technology.
- Experience with contract management, project delivery methods, team building, and client relationships.
- Knowledge of general construction sequencing and execution.
- Strong understanding of Mechanical and Plumbing systems and associated equipment.
- Experience with 3D modeling software and being physically present on active construction projects.
- Experience managing a project schedule.
- Knowledge of Quality Control and Quality Assurance testing/reporting.
- Experience with pre‑dynamic and dynamic walkdowns and startup processes.
- Knowledge of commissioning and qualification processes for MEP systems.
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) certification or Professional Engineer (PE) licensure.
- Data center construction experience.
- Knowledge of Automatic Temperature Control (ATC), Building Automation Systems (BAS), and process control systems such as Delta
V. - Experience starting up equipment and systems and managing them until project turnover.
- Experience implementing LEAN strategies and technologies such as Last Planner System, 5S, and off‑site manufacturing.
