Position Summary: The Clinical Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine – will be in the Department of Emergency Medicine at OSU COM. This position is actively involved in leadership and teaching of Emergency Medicine Students. Appropriate effort and activity in clinical research, service, and scholarly activity will also be necessary as well as a clinical record of sufficient depth to qualify for faculty appointment at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor.

The position will work with existing Emergency Medicine faculty.

Required Qualifications
  • M.D./D.O.

    Doctor of Osteopathy or Medical Doctor;
    Emergency Medicine (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    Eligibility for licensure in the state of Oklahoma; board certification by the AOA or ABMS; and, appropriate staff privileges at OSU Medical Center, Northeastern Health System, Jack Montgomery VA Medical Center, Cleveland Area Hospital and Claremore Indian Hospital.

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    Knowledge of all areas related to the clinical practice of Emergency Medicine. Requires strong analytical skills, advanced multi-tasking skills, advanced problem solving skills, practice management experience, and the ability to effectively plan. Computer skills are needed to operate electronic medical records. Good communication and leadership skills are a positive. Interpersonal skills are required to interact effectively with faculty, resident physicians, medical students, patients and providers.
