Job Summary
Tulsa Community College is seeking qualified adjunct instructors for Continuing Education ACT Prep courses. Adjunct instructors are hired within their respective fields for one or more semesters based on the needs of their academic school.
A teaching assignment may or may not be available at the time of application. Potential adjunct faculty will be contacted as teaching assignments become available.
Essential DutiesAre you passionate about helping students succeed on standardized tests? Do you enjoy teaching and mentoring learners in preparation for the ACT? Join our Continuing Education team as an ACT Prep Instructor!
You will lead non-credit courses covering topics such as:
- ACT Math, including algebra, geometry, and basic statistics
- ACT English and Reading comprehension strategies
- ACT Science reasoning skills
- Test-taking strategies and time management
- Practice exams and score analysis
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Education, Mathematics, English, or related area) or equivalent professional experience.
Background in teaching or prior teaching experience.
Familiarity with the ACT exam format and content.
Master's degree in a related field (or equivalent experience).
Prior experience tutoring or teaching standardized test prep.
Strong communication, organizational, and instructional skills.
Experience creating lesson plans, practice tests, or curriculum materials.
Passion for student success and a student-focused teaching approach.
