Dance Instructor

Oklahoma Performing Arts is seeking a passionate and experienced dance instructor. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in classical ballet, and/or tap, jazz, and acrobatics, and a genuine interest in working with young people.

• Deliver engaging and age-appropriate lessons for students of various ages and skill levels
• Have an interest in creating and implementing creative and challenging choreography
• Maintain a safe and positive learning environment, provide constructive feedback and encouragement to students.
• Communicate effectively with other faculty regarding student progress.
• Assist with OPA's programs, maintenance, and preparation for performances and programs as needed.

• Professional dance training, emphasis in classical ballet, and experience
• Proven ability to teach multiple dance styles, especially ballet, but also tap, jazz, and acrobatics.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
• Experience certification and/or degree in education, psychology, counseling, or youth development
• Passion for working with children and adolescents
• Devotion to creating a stronger humanity through performing arts education
• Availability to teach evening classes
• Opportunities for professional development
• Opportunities to develop and showcase personal artistic works.
