Job Description

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the duties outlined below, in addition to those described in the Math and Reading Interventionist job description on file with Talent/HR for the District, and those provided for in the employee handbook.

Scheduled work hours: 7:30am – 4:30pm.

Instructional Delivery and Assessment
  • Develop and implement Oklahoma standards‑based intervention plans that address the math and reading needs of students at varying skill levels.
  • Provide targeted small‑group and/or one‑on‑one instruction to accelerate student growth in foundational literacy and numeracy.
  • Use formative and summative assessment data to monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies, ensuring each student makes measurable gains.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to align intervention supports with core instruction and grade‑level expectations.
  • Embrace and apply feedback from coaching, walkthroughs, and data discussions to continuously improve instructional practice.
Academic and Cultural Support
  • Partner with content and grade‑level teams to promote an environment prioritizing critical thinking, academic rigor, and equitable learning opportunities.
  • Build trusting, positive, and supportive relationships with students and families that reinforce high expectations and academic confidence.
  • Participate fully in school culture responsibilities, including morning duty, hallway oversight, lunch duty, and dismissal supervision.
  • Attend and actively engage in school‑based events such as staff meetings, back‑to‑school nights, open houses, orientations, parent‑teacher conferences, PTO events, and other community gatherings.
  • Create, update, and communicate individualized intervention plans to families and teachers to ensure unified support for student progress.
  • Demonstrate professionalism through timely communication, documentation, and adherence to deadlines.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Reading, Mathematics, Special Education, or a closely related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or eligibility for certification in Oklahoma preferred;
    Reading Specialist or Special Education endorsements are a plus.
  • Demonstrated skill in delivering targeted literacy and numeracy interventions, progress monitoring, and using data to drive instruction.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and record‑keeping skills to effectively track student growth and coordinate support.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers, instructional coaches, and student support teams.
