Clary Sage College is looking for a Nail Technician Instructor! The Nail Technician Program prepares students for entry-level employment in Manicuring. Must be an experienced Nail Technician with a valid Oklahoma Master Instructor License (Cosmetology or Manicurist/Nail Technician Instructor) and have a minimum of three years of field experience with natural and acrylic nail enhancements. Must have experience inmassage techniques, arm, hand, leg, and foot anatomy, manicuring, pedicuring, and various artificial nail applications.

Strong verbal communication abilities, customer service skills, attention to detail, and ability to operate nail technology equipment. The schedule is Mon-Thurs. 12:00pm - 10:30pm (Four 10-hour days with 3-day weekends!). Full-time evenings with great benefits.

Primary Responsibilities

• Counsel students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback
• Adhere to curriculum expectations to ensure accreditation standards are met
• Perform a variety of instructional assistance, tutoring, and related support functions as needed
• Keep current on trends and styles as related to Nail Technology
• Study, evaluate, and recommend the adoption of textbooks, teaching aids, and materials to improve instruction
• Assist students in understanding the basic fundamentals of various aspects of the subject material
• Monitor and assist with a variety of laboratory activities for students at various levels of proficiency
• Prepare, operate, maintain, and demonstrate classroom and laboratory equipment and materials
• Assist students with classroom and laboratory assignments, exercises, and tests
• Prepare students for state boards
• Document grades and attendance, post to transcript accordingly, maintain a working knowledge of Canvas
• Be familiar with the rules and regulations of the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and other accrediting bodies affiliated with Clary Sage
• Instruct students in safe service practices
• Be familiar with current accrediting bodies and program societies i.e. ACCSC, and OSHA,adhere to OSHA standards and maintain compliance
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes
• Provide students with individualized or small group assistance, guidance, and study strategies for the development and improvement of basic skills
• Enforce consistency with the syllabus, lesson plans, and other module components, explain and clarify learning activities to students
• Support student retention by reviewing individual completion of learning activities, monitoring attendance, and contacting students as necessary
• Make instructor observations to promote professional improvement in the classroom
• Assist with program/curriculum development as needed
• Responsible for keeping inventory and purchasing supplies as needed for the program being taught
• Maintain professional image, attitude, and appearance
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned
• Attend Graduation Ceremonies and other college events as required
• Report directly to the Department Head
