Summary
The Tulsa Dream Center Education Program is a place for children from all backgrounds to play, socialize, learn and grow. The Education Teacher helps students develop and strengthen academic, physical and social skills by providing assistance and support through classroom management, tutoring and mentoring.

- Plans, prepares and delivers lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
- Develops schemes of work, lesson plans and tests that are in accordance with established procedures.
- Instructs and monitors students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
- Uses relevant technology to support and differentiate instruction.
- Manages student behavior in the classroom by establishing and enforcing rules and procedures.
- Maintains discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
- Provides appropriate feedback on work.
- Helps to ensure the safety and welfare of the children and protects each from physical or emotional harm. This includes performing all tasks with an appropriate level of confidentiality.
- Implements culturally inclusive and age-appropriate curriculum and activities to nurture and stimulate all domains of each child’s development.
- Treats all children, families, and staff members with dignity and respect, and allows for individual differences.
- Provides a developmentally appropriate classroom environment.
- Prepares daily attendance.
- Provides functional guidance to Teacher Assistants assigned to their classroom.
- Participates in on‑going in‑service and educational development opportunities.
- Follows instructions, policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's Degree in Education preferred.
- Speaks English at an idiomatic level.
- Good communication, problem solving, and priority setting skills as well as maintaining an overall positive and professional attitude/disposition.
- Knowledge of play, reading, and quiet‑time activities for children.
- Child supervision and classroom management skills.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize and implement educational activities.
- Ability to make decisions on behalf of children and protect their well‑being.
- Must be able to manage confidential information.

Therefore, each employee must at all times be emotionally stable and able to function effectively with children, adolescents and adults who may have mental or behavioral health problems. The staff must be able to demonstrate appropriate behavior, expression of emotions, as well as role modeling.
Physical Requirements- Sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling, stooping, walking, and the ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and, in case of emergency, a 40‑pound child.
- Manual dexterity with the use of hands, fingers to feel objects, tools, and controls.
- Sighted with peripheral, near, and far vision.
- Hearing and speaking.
- Excellent English communication skills.
