Clinical Assistant​/Associate Professor and Director of Clinical Education

This position is Principal Faculty for the Physician Assistant Program. The Director of Clinical Education is responsible for the development of the clinical curriculum. They are responsible for recruiting and maintaining relationships with clinical sites and preceptors. They oversee student evaluations and assessment during the clinical curricular phase of the program and perform ongoing assessment of clinical site and preceptor sufficiency and efficiency.

Principal Faculty support the Program Director in ensuring all aspects of the Program meet the Standards of Accreditation set forth by the ARC-PA. Principal faculty also ensure that the curriculum is consistent with current practice standards as they relate to the PA role in providing patient care and Oklahoma State University policies. This position is a Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor, a non-tenure-track role.

Academic Responsibilities:

• Assists the Program Director in aligning programmatic operations with accreditation standards
• Evaluates student progress and performance at regular intervals
• Ensures the availability of remedial instruction
• Provides academic counseling and advising to students
• Provides classroom and laboratory instruction
• Participates in program evaluation and assessment activities
• Participates in student recruitment and the admission review and selection process
• Advocates for the Program within the University, community clinical partners, as well as state and national organizations

Clinical Practice Responsibilities:

• Provide medical care within an OSU-sponsored clinic
• Dedicated to serving as a PA student preceptor
