Cosmetology Master Instructor - Day

Clary Sage College is currently accepting applications for a permanent, full-time position teaching Cosmetology Master Instructor for day hours, Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Responsibilities- Counsel with students in a professional manner, offering constructive, encouraging, and timely feedback.
- Adhere to curriculum expectations to ensure accreditation standards are met.
- Proactively identify and address issues with course content or technology.
- Send welcome emails to students on your roster two days before the scheduled start of class.
- Respond to written assignments with personalized comments.
- Model the CARES philosophy and core values with courage, teamwork, perseverance, and vision.
- Keep current on trends and styles in grooming and fashion.
- Maintain knowledge of methods and procedures used in standard record-keeping, statistical compilation, and salon practices.
- Perform a variety of instructional assistance, tutoring, and related support functions as needed.
- Adhere to OSHA standards and maintain compliance.
- Always encourage students and keep them positive about the profession of Cosmetology.
- Document grades and attendance, post to transcript accordingly, maintain a working knowledge of Canvas.
- Prepare students for state boards.
- Keep work station organized and clean.
- Clean and stock lab and classroom, order supplies when needed, keep inventory, and request supplies for the laboratory.
- Be familiar with the rules and regulations of the Oklahoma State Board of Cosmetology and other accrediting bodies affiliated with Clary Sage College.
- Provide students with individualized or small-group assistance, guidance, and study strategies to develop and improve basic skills.
- Support student retention by reviewing completion of learning activities, monitoring attendance, and contacting students as necessary.
- Define goals and/or required results at the beginning of the performance period.
- Communicate regularly with other staff toward defined goals and/or required results.
- Self‑motivate to improve quantity and quality of work performed and participate in training and development opportunities as appropriate.
- Display a high level of effort and commitment to performing work; operate effectively within the organizational structure; demonstrate trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
- Demonstrate eagerness to learn, assume responsibility, seek out and accept increased responsibility, and show a "can do" approach to work. Persist and seek alternatives when obstacles arise.
- Work within the system in a resourceful manner to accomplish reasonable work goals; show flexibility in response to process change and adapt to and accommodate new methods and procedures.
- Accept direction and feedback from supervisor and follow through appropriately.
- Work when scheduled; begin and end work as expected; call in according to policy when arriving late or absent; observe Fair Labor Standards Act provisions; observe policies on breaks and lunch periods; use work time appropriately.
- Attend graduation ceremonies.
- Participate in school-sponsored activities.
- Complete a minimum of two professional developments and two in-services.
