Library Paraprofessional
-Adult-First Colony Library
* Interacts with library patrons to assist them in selecting materials or meeting informational needs.
* Explains the use of reference sources such as bibliographic indexes or computer assisted reference tools.
* Searches catalog, databases and print sources to answer patron inquiries.
* Assists with collection development and maintenance.
* Plans and conducts tours and programs.
* Assembles and arranges displays and bibliographies of books and other library materials.
* Assists and/or instructs other employees with their duties.
* Performs database maintenance.
* Develops, performs and/or manages youth services programming.
* Plans and performs school visits and other outreach activities.
* Catalogs and classifies library materials such as books, audiovisual materials, etc.
* Provides bibliographic control using MARC Records.
* Creates records, changes holding, using an automated system.
* Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
REQUIREMENTS:
* TRANSCRIPTS NOT REQUIRED UPLOAD RESUME ONLY
* Bachelor’s degree in related field.
* One year job related experience. Relevant experience working with children in groups is preferred.
* Computer skills.
* Good verbal and written communication including interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.
* Organizational skills and the ability to complete assigned projects in a timely manner.

** SALARY RANGE:** $17.95 - $22.44 per hour based on qualifications
