Job Summary

The Academic Associate Coach will provide a comprehensive and culturally sensitive set of support services designed to ensure the academic success of underrepresented students, as measured by high retention and graduation rates. They will also support Academic Advising by providing academic coaching for an identified caseload of students and track student success to increase retention and completion rates. The role involves assisting with identifying, designing, and coordinating a comprehensive program of academic support services, social services, and activities for underrepresented student populations.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Applied Behavioral Studies, Psychology, Sociology, Child Development, Human Relations, Education or a related field.
  • One year of related experience advising community college students.
  • Ability to develop positive relationships with personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to interact effectively with students, faculty, staff, and the community, demonstrating strong verbal, written, and listening skills.
  • Experience with personal computer operations, including Microsoft products and the internet.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties under one’s own initiative and with limited supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in higher education.
  • Teaching experience in secondary or higher education.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365.

  • Explain your background in using data to inform decision making, including your use of tools to analyze and report data for presentations to show impact of work.
