Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is seeking a highly motivated Applications Engineer to join our engineering team, focusing on configuring and customizing products to support our sales teams. This role bridges the gap between engineering and sales, ensuring our product offerings are accurately represented and tailored to customer needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Solid Works and a working knowledge of hydraulic systems.
Responsibilities- Ability to work with sense of urgency.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Collaborate with sales and applications engineering teams to develop configurable product solutions.
- Create and maintain Solid Works models and configurations to support quoting and sales activities.
- Develop tools, templates, and documentation that streamline product selection and customization.
- Interpret customer requirements and translate them into viable product configurations.
- Support the development of CPQ systems.
- Ensure all configured solutions comply with engineering standards and manufacturing capabilities.
- Provide technical support and training with documentation to sales teams regarding product configurations.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to product configuration and sales enablement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a design or development engineering role.
- Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
- Ability to plan and execute.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Solid Works required, including configurations and design automation with PLM systems.
- Familiarity with hydraulic systems and configuration is a plus.
- Experience with CPQ tools or product configurators is a plus.
