Harris Aeromet has an opportunity for a Senior Image Processing Engineer working to apply, enhance and develop image and signal processing techniques for an infrared detection, tracking, recognition, and analysis program. We are seeking an experienced engineer with a passion for working with digital data and analyzing the underlying phenomena. The successful candidate will work to develop best-in-class capabilities for airborne collection platforms in support of the national defense.

• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
• Define the technical direction/plan for image processing and algorithm development in support of the program objectives.
• Code development with Python (Jupyter Notebooks, Num Py, Sci Py, OpenCV, Matplotlib) or MATLAB (Image or Signal Processing Toolboxes).
• Performing Atmosphere modeling and analysis.
• Be hard working, technically competent, possess pride in ownership and a good work ethic.
• Have a passion for working with digital data and analyzing the underlying phenomena.
• Be dynamic and adaptable to change.
• Set the highest ethical standards for self and others.
• Background in engineering concepts and theory and experience applying these to the development of new concepts and technical practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Computer Science or Electrical Engineering preferred) and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
• 4 years Object detection and tracking experience.
• 4 years Python, MATLAB or other scripting language experience.
• Must be a U.S. citizen

• Familiarity with atmosphere modeling and analysis.
• Familiarity with ballistic missile target characteristics and trajectory analysis.
• Familiarity with mission planning.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scaled Agile development processes.
• Strong Organizational and Communication skills.
