$40.00/hr - $48.00/hr
As a Professional Geotechnical Engineer, you will coordinate field explorations, log soil and rock samples, perform engineering calculations and design, and prepare proposals and reports. You will also assist with geotechnical field testing—dynamic cone penetrometer testing, test pit observations, geophysical and pavement testing—applying sound engineering principles to analyze data, perform calculations, and provide recommendations. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying complex engineering concepts to both technical and non‑technical clients and project teams.
The projects may involve public works, transportation, commercial, communications, energy, and industrial sectors.
- Develop and maintain professional working relationships between staff and clients.
- Ensure compliance with safety rules, guidelines, and standards on all projects, actively participating in pre‑task planning and promptly reporting safety concerns to management.
- Uphold high‑quality standards throughout the execution of projects.
- Manage and oversee small projects with minimal complexity.
- Assist in developing project scopes for routine assignments.
- Support the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, and other relevant project documentation.
- Analyze data, perform engineering calculations, and conduct analyses, subject to review by a Professional Engineer.
- Coordinate and conduct field investigations, laboratory testing, and data evaluation.
- Develop comprehensive plans, schedules, and detailed phases for assigned project work.
- Collaborate closely with senior‑level project managers and Professional Engineers to gain valuable project management and engineering experience.
- Provide design recommendations, adaptations, and modifications for review and consideration by the Professional Engineer.
- Prepare work scopes, proposals, reports, and investigation plans for approval by senior‑level professionals.
- Supervise field staff, including graduate/field engineers, engineering technicians, exploration teams, laboratory personnel, and other necessary support personnel.
- Engage with clients and project teams to define service scopes and effectively communicate project progress.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and multi‑tasking.
- Highly organized and able to prioritize work, meeting deadlines.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as a team member.

- Prior experience providing geotechnical engineering services for transportation and/or commercial projects, including foundation/geotechnical designs, subsurface investigation, pavement design, and writing geotechnical recommendation reports.
- Experience with geotechnical analysis and design software such as gINT, AutoCAD, and/or Micro Station. Other software such as Geoslope, Volflo, Settle3D, Win Pass, and others are preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree (BS) in Geotechnical, Civil Engineering, or related ABET‑accredited field.
- Master’s Degree in Geology, Geological Engineering, or Civil Engineering is preferred.
- 5+ years’ experience preferred.
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) or Engineering Intern (EI) required in Oklahoma, Texas, or ability to attain within 6 months.
- Preferred location is Tulsa, Oklahoma but open to all locations within Oklahoma.
- Ability to work in the field when necessary, with occasional travel.
