OverviewDevelop, maintain, and test technologies for use in hot tapping and plugging applications of the pipeline industry. Transition new tools from development, through testing, to sustaining, including reviewing and approving design documentation. This includes troubleshooting, root cause analysis, designing, testing, and implementation of solutions. Mechanically inclined working with all aspects of mechanical parts, assemblies, processes, and equipment.
Responsibilities- Designs new products and improvements for hot tapping and plugging applications using CAD software and other tools.
- Develops, assembles, and builds prototypes to test their function by creating detailed test plans and reports results in detailed test reports.
- Identifies and solves complex technical problems related to mechanical systems and components.
- Performs research for new technologies, technical publications, and voice of customer to generate ideas for improvements.
- Produces and interprets technical deliverables (e.g., engineering calculations, FEA, test reports, etc.)
- Works closely with Project Managers and Product Managers to plan projects and assess technical feasibility.
- Frequently assists and interacts with other departments to ensure quality, manufacturability, and supply chain needs are met.
- Collaborates with other engineers, technicians, and production staff to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Provides technical presentations of project progress and new findings.

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 7+ years of engineering experience.
- Experience performing calculations for engineering design.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, Solid Works preferred.
- Familiarity with testing using sensors and data acquisition.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong math and analytical skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
