The Senior Civil Engineering Project Manager will lead planning, design, and implementation efforts for major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This position involves client engagement, technical leadership, business development, and mentoring of junior staff within Tetra Tech’s growing Tulsa team.
Essential Job Functions- Serve as the primary point of contact for municipal and utility clients across Oklahoma.
- Lead business development and client management activities to expand Tetra Tech’s presence in water and wastewater markets.
- Manage multi‑disciplinary project teams in the design and delivery of water treatment, wastewater treatment, and conveyance systems.
- Provide quality assurance and control on design documents and technical deliverables.
- Mentor and guide early‑career engineers and technical staff.
- Support proposal preparation and resource planning for upcoming projects.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Oklahoma, or ability to obtain within six (6) months of hire.
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience with demonstrated client relationship development and successful project delivery.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive engineering experience as Engineer of Record for water and/or wastewater projects.
- Proven leadership and mentoring experience with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with both clients and colleagues.
- Regular presence in the Tulsa, OK office with flexibility for hybrid work arrangements.
- Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- Prior experience with Oklahoma municipal utilities or public infrastructure clients.
- Demonstrated business development success in securing new contracts.
- Familiarity with hydraulic modeling and advanced design software tools.
- Ability to perform fieldwork in varying environmental conditions.
- Ability to walk, stand, and perform light physical activity, including occasional lifting up to 25 pounds.
- Frequent use of computers, office equipment, and occasional site visits to project locations.
- Combination of office and field environments with periodic site visits.
- Moderate noise levels typical of office settings; potential exposure to outdoor conditions during fieldwork.
