Mechanical Designer

The ETO (Engineer-To-Order) design group provides efficient solutions in the development of processes and products associated with cryogenic applications. Projects range from small components to large‑scale plant designs. The Mechanical Designer will ensure customer needs are met by following lean practices in the CAD modeling design phase, including customer drawings, manufacturing drawings, and bills of materials.
Responsibilities- Create and maintain accurate 3D models and assemblies to reflect the mechanical design and site requirements.
- Serve as the mechanical focal point in a team environment for layout and design.
- Incorporate and manage designs from concept to manufacturing.
- Create bills of material and fabrication prints for various sizes of industrial equipment.
- Facilitate meetings with other departments focused on the design review and approval processes.
- Review documentation from other engineers and designers during a document review process.
- Collaborate with purchasing/suppliers regarding the geometry and identification of purchased parts.
- Ensure company standards and procedures are incorporated into associated drawings.
- Work independently with a high level of accuracy to complete assigned projects on time.
- Work daily with the shop floor as projects move through production.
- Exercise good interpersonal skills.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- Requires moving around the production floor and investigating production issues with your designed equipment.
- Lift up to 15 pounds.
- Work involves sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and other related tasks in an office setting.
- Classified as safety sensitive; must adhere to safety protocols and protect own and others’ safety.
- Technical degree in Mechanical Drafting and Design.
- Certification in Solid Works is beneficial.
- Two to four years of work experience.
- Proficient with 3‑D mechanical design software;
Solid Works required. - Experience working within a product lifecycle management environment.
- Strong understanding of design for manufacturing and quality principles.
- General knowledge of industrial piping and design principles.
- Experience with Solid Works piping and routing module is a plus.
- General knowledge of industrial vessel design principles.
