** Overview
* * This is a hands-on Controller role reporting directly to the CFO at a well-established insurance organization based in Tulsa. You’ll own the full accounting function and play a key role in financial leadership, controls, and decision-making. This role blends strategic oversight with hands-on execution and is ideal for an accounting leader who thrives in a stable, growing insurance environment.
** Full relocation is covered.**---## What You’ll Do
* Lead all core accounting functions including month-end close, general ledger, journal entries, and work-in-process reporting
* Own and continuously improve internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures
* Partner with the CFO and senior leadership to provide insight into financial performance, trends, and risks
* Prepare and review financial statements and management reporting
* Lead quarterly accounting reviews, annual audits, and coordination with external auditors and tax advisors
* Oversee statutory reporting, tax, treasury, AP, and AR functions
* Manage cash flow, bank relationships, and working capital requirements
* Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
* Lead, mentor, and develop accounting teams across multiple functions
* Drive process improvements, systems enhancements, and special projects as assigned by the CFO or VP Finance---## What We’re Looking For
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
* 8+ years of progressive accounting experience within insurance or Big 4 public accounting
* Insurance industry experience strongly preferred (health insurance or P&C insurance)
* Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams
* Strong knowledge of GAAP, statutory reporting, internal controls, and audit processes
* Strong communicator who can partner effectively with executive and non-finance stakeholders---## Why This Role
