Job Description & How to Apply Below

Lead Nicely Co.'s financial strategy, planning, budgeting, and financial operations while helping build the financial foundation necessary to scale the company.

Position overview

Nicely Co. is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to strengthen company strategy, organizational development, resource allocation, risk management, performance measurement, and scalable growth. This role will turn company priorities into clear, dependable work while partnering directly with colleagues across functions.

Nicely Co. is an early-stage company, so this position will help create the processes and internal systems behind the work, not merely inherit a mature playbook. The successful candidate will use sound judgment, communicate tradeoffs, and operate with appropriate autonomy.

Responsibilities may evolve as the company grows. This is an opportunity to influence how the Executive function develops, establish useful standards, and leave behind systems that scale responsibly.

Responsibilities
  • Shape financial strategy in partnership with the Founder/CEO and translate company priorities into financial plans.
  • Build practical budgeting, forecasting, cash-flow management, capital planning, and scenario-modeling disciplines.
  • Oversee accounting readiness, financial reporting, controls, close practices, and the integrity of management information.
  • Develop financial models for pricing, profitability, investment choices, hiring, and other executive decisions.
  • Support responsible fundraising preparation, due diligence, investor materials, and ongoing financial communications without overstating company performance.
  • Identify financial, operational, compliance, and liquidity risks and recommend proportionate mitigations.
  • Establish useful KPIs and reporting cadences that help leaders understand performance and act early.
  • Evaluate vendors, systems, and processes needed for a secure and scalable finance operation.
  • Advise the Founder/CEO and executive peers with independent judgment, clear analysis, and constructive challenge.
  • Define the finance roadmap, policies, controls, responsibilities, and future team structure.
  • Recruit, develop, and lead future finance team members as company needs justify growth.
  • Balance financial discipline with the speed and adaptability required in an early-stage company.
Qualifications
  • Demonstrated capability relevant to company strategy, organizational development, resource allocation, risk management, performance measurement, and scalable growth.
  • Judgment and ownership appropriate for the Chief Financial Officer scope.
  • Strong written and verbal communication with both specialists and cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to organize ambiguous work, make progress independently, and document decisions.
  • Comfort building systems in an early-stage environment where priorities may evolve.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, confidentiality, security, accessibility, and inclusive collaboration.
  • Previous leadership experience strongly preferred, including setting priorities and developing people.
  • Experience managing resources, risks, and performance without relying on excessive process.
Preferred qualifications
  • Experience with modern methods and tools used in Executive.
  • Experience in a startup, small business, or other resource-conscious environment.
  • Evidence of improving a workflow, standard, product, service, or measurable outcome.
  • Relevant education, certification, portfolio, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience establishing or substantially rebuilding a function.
  • Experience advising executive decisions with clear analysis and constructive challenge.
  • Flexible work arrangements where applicable.
  • Opportunity to help build an early-stage company.
  • Direct impact on company growth and operating quality.
  • Cross-functional collaboration and professional development opportunities.
  • Significant ownership over assigned responsibilities.
  • Opportunity for responsibilities to expand as the company grows.
