• Hillcrest Hospital South is a full-service 180‑bed hospital providing a wide range of inpatient and outpatient services using state‑of‑the‑art technology in a friendly community setting. Consistent performance has helped the hospital be nationally recognized for patient safety.

• Assist the physician in the direct care of patients in the operating room environment.
• Handle instruments and supplies necessary during the surgical procedure.
• Show competence in the procedure being performed and anticipate the needs of the surgeon.
• Ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure.
• Maintain a sterile field.
• Demonstrate proper handling of surgical specimens.
• Assist in cleaning, both routine and terminal, and stocking the operating room.
• Adhere to Association of Surgical Technologists and Association of Operating Room Nurses guidelines.

• Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program.
• Must become certified through the NCCT or NBSTSA within one year of hire.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• High School diploma or GED.

• One year of experience as a Surgical Tech.
