Hiring Range: $18.60 - $21.00, Hourly

About This Position

• Reviews coding in Electronic Medical Records system and posts the charges. Codes and bills for hospital charges.
• Captures all billing from all clinics and hospitals. Checks all accounts for any duplicate charges.
• Uses proper Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) codes, ICD-10 codes, and modifiers.
• Attends seminars or webinars to stay current with changes in billing.
• Must have and maintain Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification.

Required Qualifications

• High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
• 1-2 years of medical billing background with 2 years of college or technical training. In lieu of college or technical training, 3 or more years coding and billing experience in a primary care or specialty facility.

Certifications, Registrations, And/or Licenses

• CPC certification required.

Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge

• Medical coding, medical billing, typing, computer, and 10-key. Must have organizational skills and be able to handle multiple tasks.
