Certification Details
- Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
- Implements and monitors patient care plans.
- Monitors, records and communicates patient condition as appropriate.
- Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
- Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders.
- Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment.
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Job Details
- Must have current nursing license verified within 30 days prior to start.
- Nursys verification required within 30 days prior to start.
- Pharmacology 1 or 2 exam required prior to start and updated every 3 years thereafter with minimum 80% score.
- Ascension Medical Surgical Exam required prior to start and updated every 3 years thereafter with minimum 80% score.
- Completion of Ascension Core Competencies including HIPAA, Joint Commission
-NPSG, OSHA Topics within a year of start, updated yearly with minimum 80% score. - Health Statement or completed physical exam prior to first assignment, updated annually thereafter.
- Documentation of required immunizations and health screenings including MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza Vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, and TB testing as specified.
- Fit Test required annually.
- Completion of Ascension Skills Checklist within one year of start, updated annually for specialty.
- Completion of required background checks and verifications including criminal background, EPLS, employment verification, education verification, and professional references.
Job Requirements
- Contract length is 13 weeks.
Schedule Information
- Must be AHA certified for BLS.
- Ascension Unit Specific Checklist is optional for onboarding but needs to be uploaded by unit leader within a week.
- Ascension Onboarding Requirements Education Attestation must be completed and uploaded prior to start.
- Ascension Nursing Contract Worker Onboarding done onsite.
- Ascension Nova Stat Strip pre-hire modules required prior to clearance.
- Ascension Cerner Test-Out required prior to start.
- Forward facing headshot with white or blue background required.
