Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) OR Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) from Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI). BLS. Must-Have: 2-3 years of experience;
At least 1 year of previous Traveler experience;
Must be willing to work on holidays.
Description:
Responsible for diagnostic cardiac or vascular ultrasound. Provides cardiologists with measurements and accurate images of cardiac structures for diagnosis. Provides immediate feedback with preliminary reports of critical results to nurses and physicians. Assists in complex procedures to decrease potential associated procedural risks. Demonstrates correct technique, efficiency, and judgment in advanced cardiac and/or peripheral vascular procedures. Performs adult and/or pediatric cardiac ultrasound procedures.
Reviews pertinent patient data and reports before procedures. Operates necessary equipment to obtain optimal diagnostic recordings. Exhibits appropriate judgment in notifying abnormal results to the reading physician. Aids physicians during studies and complex procedures. Maintains proper documentation of data according to departmental policies. Documents all procedures accurately in departmental tracking. Processes charging and necessary data efficiently and accurately. Documents procedural data consistently in the patient chart.
Collaborates to maintain departmental efficiency. Anticipates needs in equipment and supplies. Utilizes resources wisely to assist in cost containment. Schedules patients efficiently. Supports departmental goals through QA and educational activities. Maintains current competency and registry in the specialty practices. Demonstrates initiative in personal and professional development. Complies with mandatory education standards. Participates in departmental QA processes and accreditation. Modifies behavior and performance to meet changing goals.
Adheres to all departmental policies. Maintains a clean environment and practices infection control. Promotes safety for patients, visitors, and personnel.
