Summary/ObjectiveAs a member of the Hogan Application Technology group working on the Business Data team, you will support organizational decision-making and operations by ensuring the integrity, performance, and accessibility of our business data systems. You will work closely with other members of the team to design, build, and maintain scalable pipelines and infrastructure that connect our operational systems.
Essential Functions- Develop and maintain data pipelines and processes to integrate data from external/internal systems.
- Collaborate with our Data Architect to build and optimize our business data warehouse and associated data models.
- Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and availability through validation, testing, and monitoring processes.
- Monitor and tune pipeline performance and cost efficiency within our Azure-based environment.
- Implement and maintain data governance standards, including version control, documentation, and metadata management.
- Write and maintain clear technical documentation for pipelines, workflows, and infrastructure.
- Triage incoming requests, estimate effort, prioritize tasks, and communicate timelines and updates.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve data quality, performance, and processes.
- Support data analysis requests from internal customers.
- Support software architecture teams on visualization approaches and tools for our products.
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines to ensure the automated delivery of data products.
- Maintain awareness and understanding on industry trends surrounding data management technology and data governance.

Our Tech StackOur environment is built primarily on Microsoft products, including:

SQL / CosmosDB - Dynamics CRM, Business Central, and Power Platform (Power
BI, Power Automate, Power Apps) - Custom .NET and C#/Angular applications with REST APIs
- Source Control with Git using Azure Dev Ops for CI/CD
- Advanced SQL skills, including query optimization and complex joins.
- Strong skills in building and maintaining data pipelines and integration processes.
- Strong understanding of relational and non-relational databases.
- Experience with designing data solutions using Databricks.
- Experience with Python for data processing and automation.
- Experience with data modeling and data warehouse design.
- Experience in monitoring and optimizing cost and performance in cloud-based environments.
- Familiarity with Azure cloud data tools and infrastructure.
- Familiarity working with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and/or Business Central APIs.
- Familiarity of international privacy laws as they apply to data products.
- Familiarity with R language or other scripting languages.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with colleagues from diverse academic and professional backgrounds, including technical and non-technical team members.
- Organized and self-directed with the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy, system reliability, and documentation quality.
- A collaborative problem-solver who enjoys continuous learning and process improvement.
- 2+ years of professional experience in data engineering or data-focused software development.
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
