Workday Functional Analyst I- HCM & Training

Role Overview The Workday Functional Analyst is responsible for the design, configuration, testing, validation, training, and support of the Workday application and other assigned systems. This individual will serve as the primary owner of the HCM and Training work streams, driving day-to-day support, feature adoption, optimization efforts, system enhancements, testing, governance participation, and long-term platform strategy. This role involves working collaboratively across interdisciplinary teams to optimize and enhance system functionalities, ensuring they meet business requirements and support process workflows.

Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary owner for Workday HCM and Training work streams, driving outcomes rather than simply executing assigned tasks.

Design and maintain system configuration by evaluating and implementing modifications and enhancements.

Independently own a Workday functional area from requirements gathering through configuration, testing, deployment, and end-user support.

Drive the deployment of feature releases and system maintenance, including evaluating, testing, and implementing new functionality.

Partner directly with HR, Learning, Talent, and business stakeholders to identify process improvements and deliver solutions.

Investigate complex system issues, providing analysis and generating effective solution options.

Coordinate, prepare, and execute training, adoption plans, and communications for end-users.

Balance operational support with strategic initiatives, including platform optimization and continuous improvement.

Participate in governance reviews, change management processes, and production readiness activities.

Required Qualifications Deep functional expertise within Workday HCM and/or Learning.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle both planned and unplanned responsibilities.

Strong understanding of Workday business processes, security, reporting, and change management principles.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to prioritize workload and execute tasks independently, providing timely follow-up and resolution.

Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with team members and leadership.

Ability to work independently while balancing operational support with strategic initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications Experience serving as the primary owner of a Workday HCM or Learning workstream.

Experience leading feature adoption efforts and evaluating new Workday capabilities.

Experience working directly with senior business leaders and executive stakeholders.

Formal Workday training or certification.
