The Role:

As an Underwriting Supervisor, you will directly manage a team of underwriters and underwriting assistants, providing coaching, guidance, and regular performance feedback. You’ll ensure underwriting decisions and workflows align with company guidelines and support profitability goals. In addition to overseeing daily operations, you’ll contribute to strategic initiatives such as system enhancements, training implementation, and cross-functional collaboration to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

Strong communication and relationship-building with staff, internal teams, and external partners are key to success in this role.

Who we’re looking for:

  • High school diploma or GED required;
    Bachelor’s degree or CPCU preferred
  • 5+ years’ experience underwriting property and casualty insurance
    • Familiarity with workers comp, commercial auto, and/or property underwriting processes is a plus
  • Oklahoma issued Insurance Agent/Producer license preferred
  • Analytical thinking and sound judgment in risk assessment
  • Ability to prioritize, delegate, and resolve conflicts calmly and efficiently
  • Preferred experience with:
    • Underwriting platforms (e.g., Guidewire, Policy Center, or similar)
    • Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency with Excel
    • Salesforce or CRM systems for tracking lead or submission activity
